Royal Philips Electronics
Royal Philips Electronics is one of the world's leading electronics companies and Europe's largest with sales in 2005 of 30.4 billion Euros. Philips develops professional speech recognition tools that enable software and IT companies to add speech recognition features to their products
The Company's SpeechMagic program is used in more than 7,000 installations worldwide establishing itself at the top of the dictation and speech recognition industry. With SpeechMagic, your IT provider can build speech recognition applications to suit your individual needs. The first step in the report creation process is to record a dictation. A SpeechMike, the Digital Pocket Memo, a PDA or a standard telephone line can be used. A sound file can also be recorded externally and sent over the Internet or a WAN to the SpeechMagic system
SpeechMagic is integrated with various vertical IT systems and dictation applications, effectively managing large dictation volumes. Unique in its support of distributed networks, it enables dictation, recognition and correction to take place at any location, across a LAN, WAN or the Internet
Additionally, SpeechMagic automatically converts the audio data to written text. The text file can be accessed from any correction workstation; automatic punctuation and hesitation filtering enables authors to dictate using their natural style of speech. Furthermore, the system becomes familiar with how the user speaks and adapts the acoustic reference files accordingly
